From surveys approximately 87% of hygienists wear loupes and loupes are an essential part of their patient care and self-care. Loupes can be beneficial for hygienists because they can improve visibility and make it easier to see small details. This can be especially helpful in low-light conditions, and can make it easier to perform tasks such as cleaning teeth or removing plaque.

Just like dentists, hygienists need to look out for their posture as well! Pain can occur from prolonged work in an arched over position so loupes and (better yet) Refractives, can allow hygienists to have a closer look at their patients while also taking care of their own posture and reduce the risk of developing chronic pain in the neck and back.
