The initial adjustment period for loupes can take anywhere from just a few days up to a few month depending on the sensitivity of your ciliary (eye) muscles and the frequency at which the loupes are worn. The more they are worn initially, the quicker the adjustment will be.

Once used to the new loupes and magnification, most clinicians are unable to work without!

We recommend practicing with the loupes at home and the following outlines a few useful tips and tricks from the clinicians on our team to help in dynamically training hand-eye coordination.

  • Whilst wearing your loupes, using your phone to send messages, browse the internet, play games, scroll on social media.

  • Painting nails.

  • Crochet/fine needle work (or practicing some suturing).

  • Simple clinical procedures to start such as hygiene and simple restorative (e.g. Class I cavity)
