Loupes are commonly used by dentists and surgeons, as well as by other medical professionals who require precise visual acuity to perform their tasks.

Surgeons use loupes to help them see small structures more clearly during surgeries, such as when repairing damaged tissues or removing tumours. Loupes are also used by other medical professionals, such as ophthalmologists and dermatologists, to help them see small details more clearly in their respective fields.

Otolaryngologists (ENT), dermatologists and plastic, maxillofacial, and ophthalmic surgeons use both loupes and microscopes frequently. It is also not uncommon for cardiothoracic, paediatric surgeons and neurosurgeons to also use loupes.
